CHEMO IS DONE!!!!
I can hardly believe that this phase is over!!! I am so excited to move to the next step. Surgery April 21st.
After some bone scans and pet scans I may be deemed Cancer free!!! So hard to believe we are already there!!
Today went well. The onc. did hear a little rattle in my lower left lung and debating on not letting me have treatment. But I convinced her I would see my asthma dr asap and get the neulasta shot tomorrow so I had my treatment!!! LOL
Treatment went as planned but I couldn't sleep at all. Very unusual for this treatment. We will see how the side effects go. Yesterday I saw my neurologist and he gave me another med for the tingles in my hands. Well it was so nice yesterday that I took Eli to the park and after school brought the other 2. Well I fell down 2x at the park with no notice and then when we got home I was just standing by the van and totally fell again on my back and butt.
My neurologist said to cut the dose in half. My onc said to stop taking it all together! So I am not taking it. I am a clutz but not falling 3x in one afternoon!!! Crazy meds.
God has brought me through this very tough stage of treatment and is walking me down the road to the next step. I am a bit nervous about surgery as to be expected. But I know He will get me through that stage too.
Neuropathy
Today I had to go to the center and be evaluated because I have been in excrutiating pain. My hands, feet, lips, tongue and chin were all numb and tingly and I have been having stabbing pain through out my entire body! It has been awful.
They decided to double my neurontin and after taking more of that today only my fingertips and toes and my lips a little are tingly. Better than it was. It hasn't helped the stabbing pain too much though. I am also taking oxycodone to help with the pain. It helps a little. I just hope this starts to wear off soon. I have to see my neurologist tomorrow. Wonder what he will have to say .
This is all side effects from the taxol. Thankfully NEXT WEEK is my LAST treatment!!!! I will be so happy when this stage is done and we can move on to the next one. I will miss my nurse though. She is such a sweet and wonderful lady.
UPDATE:
I went to my neurologist and he is going to do a nerve test and some blood work. He doesn't think that my nerves are damaged from the chemo so that is good. The nerve test will determine that. Could be low calcium and or magnesium causing the tingles. He also bumped my meds up again just for a week or so to see if that helps.

Chemo 7 of 8!
Chemo went well. After getting my Benadryl I slept through most of it. It is wonderful knowing I only have one more treatment to go!! What was great was that my red blood cells went from an iffy 9 up to 10.2!!! So hopefully it was enough to avoid a transfusion next week. We shall see!!!
Today the steroids were still hitting me and this morning I cleaned both kid's rooms. They look great but I had to get some sleep since my friend had my kids all day!! So I popped an ativan and laid down. That did the trick. I slept for about 4hrs!!!
I am feeling pretty good. Still sleepy but good. The aches should kick in this weekend but they aren't here now so I am happy about that! I had the windows open all day. It was such a beautiful day and even though I had to rest it was good to breath in the fresh air!! I am hoping that will help my children sleep well tonight!
Surgery is officially scheduled for April 21st. The worst part of that is that it is 4 days before Easter and I am not sure if I will be home for Easter. I am making the kids baskets up before hand so they are set to go regardless if I am here or in the hospital. I have their outfits already too!!
I am praying for an easy week and hope to be driving more and more (when the drugs are out of my system!!) God has been so good through this whole journey thus far and I am looking to see what He does as we progress to the next step.

Plastic Surgeon and Blood work
I saw the plastic surgeon today. Very strange to be going to a plastic surgeon!!! LOL We discussed my options for reconstruction and we saw pictures so that I have an idea of what I am looking at. It is a little intimidating but I know that God will get me through that phase.
I also had blood work done again to check my counts. My white cells are good and my red cells are down but not low enough for a transfusion!! Although I am borderline so after the next chemo there is a chance that I will need another transfusion.
Monday I will be seeing my surgeon and have more details on how that is going to go and when he wants to take my ovaries. I get the impression he wants them out sooner than later and that is fine with me.
Tomorrow my friend is driving me to MOPS!! I am excited to see everyone as it has been so long since I have been!! God is good!!

The BUG!
I had the miserable stomach bug the day after chemo. NOT fun. I was sick for about 18hrs and it left me VERY dehydrated. On Sat. I couldn't get much in to drink at all and I knew I was dehydrated. We tried different things to get my tummy to settle down so I could drink but it didn't work. So in the afternoon we took the kids to Grandma and Grandpa's and headed down to the St. Francis ER.
When I got there I told them I was a patient at the Cancer Center and that I had the bug and it left me dehydrated. They quickly brought me to the triage room and gave me a mask(for my benefit). They did all my vitals and kept me back there until there was a room available. It was so nice that I didn't have to sit in the waiting room with all the other germs I didn't need!! I was there about an hour before they attempted to put in an IV cuz they couldn't access my port in that area. It was too unsterile.(is unsterile a word?? hmmm LOL) So after the nurse killed my one vein she was able to get another one and we started fluids.
Lots of nurse, doctor and vital checks, 2 liters of fluids and 9 hrs I was finally able to eat and go home!
We got to Bob's parent's house around 11pm and Robbie was STILL awake. He was very concerned about mommy even though he wouldn't say it. I gave him a big hug and kiss when I got there.
Today(Sunday) I spent the day in bed and I have been able to eat and drink and actually feel pretty good!! My body aches from the chemo but that is "normal". I am just praying that no one else gets sick and that we are DONE with the sickies!!!
2 More treatments to go and I am DONE with CHEMO!!!!!!!!!! Surgery is set for April 20th. I am looking forward to the next step and getting closer to being in remission!!! Only with your prayers and God's grace and strength have a I come this far and how I will finish this battle!

Half way thru part 2
I am at the center ready for my 2nd treatment of 4 of taxol. The end is in site!! my counts today are :
Red cells 10.8 and 32
White cells 11
That's for all you medical people!! LOL
Next week we will have more bloodwork and an appt with the plastic surgeon. The 14th we meet with Dr. White again. From talking with my oncologist it sounds like what was thinking. Dr. White wants my ovaries out sooner than later. That is fine with me. guess will start taking more calcium and vit D to leep my bones healthy.
I am amazed at how fast things are going now! Surgery is tent scheduled for April 20th!!!
God has brought me this far and I know He will carry me the rest of the way!
I love you all and God bless you for all of your support!

The one thing.....
The one thing that freaks me out the most is a blood transfusion.
Today I had my blood work done to check my counts and my white cell counts are good, my red cells on the other hand are very bad. I went from 9 and 28 to 8 and 26 which is a huge drop (so I am told, I have no idea!!). So I get the exciting experience of a blood transfusion tomorrow morning. I am not looking forward to this. This was the one thing that scared me the most. The thought of someone else's blood in my body freaks me out. I know they are safe and all, it is just the one thing that I was hoping to NOT have to do.
My nurse, Gloria, is great though. I am so thankful that I got her for my nurse.
On another note, it looks like surgery will be scheduled for the 3rd week in April!!! I can't believe we are scheduling surgery and that I have an appt with a plastic surgeon!! That means chemo is almost over!!! It seems like an eternity since I was diagnosed and now I am getting ready for the next step.
The transfusion went well today. I got a little sick tummy but that was it. I did tear up a bit when my nurse came in with the unit but she said this is a war and this is just what we have to do to fight this battle.
I love the consent you have to sign when you have a transfusion. We are not responsible if you get this or that disease from the transfusion!! LOL GREAT!
I should get stronger from this so that is good!
